MANAGEMENT
Team Manager
As the Team Manager, your role involves leading the team with a strategic focus. Your primary responsibilities will centre around guiding and supporting the team members in achieving their goals. You will initiate projects by analysing the team's strengths and weaknesses, researching best practices, and setting clear objectives. Additionally, you will foster collaboration among team members to keep them engaged and productive.

Effective leadership skills are crucial. Therefore, you should have strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience in team management and project coordination is a plus.
Project Manager
As the Project Manager, you are responsible for the workflow of both operations and engineering by making sure that deadlines are met and avoiding overlap in tasks. You make sure that the team goal is achieved. You are always up-to-date on the status of all ongoing projects within the team to ensure that the planning is adhered to. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the finances of the team.

Operations Manager
As the Operations Manager, you will lead and support the operations department in all their projects. In the Management Team, you are responsible for the quality of the Operations Department. You will need to have a good overview of your department while also maintaining collaborations with the engineers for publications and events.

Chief Engineer
As Chief Engineer, you use your passion for AI and lead the Engineering teams throughout Epoch’s projects. In the Management Department, you represent and are responsible for the quality of the Engineering Department. You create a collaborative and productive environment where you hold your engineers accountable for their responsibilities. You are open to new ideas, but know when to pursue something new and when not.

You will need to have experience in Python and ML-related packages (e.g. Numpy, Matplotlib, Pandas, PyTorch, and TensorFlow). Furthermore, you need to be excellent in mathematics (statistics & linear algebra). Moreover, you need to have good communication and leadership skills and proficiency in English for both written and verbal communication.
ENGINEERS
Lead Engineer
As Lead Engineer, your goal is to maintain an overview of your team's project and optimise collaboration among the engineers. We aim to have more than one Engineering team working simultaneously. Each team is represented by its own Lead Engineer, who is responsible for coordinating tasks and communicating with the Chief Engineer. In addition to these responsibilities, you will implement AI solutions alongside the rest of the team.

AI Engineer
As an AI Engineer, you will develop state-of-the-art AI models. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around writing code and training models with your engineering team. You will search for innovative solutions that give a winning edge and help solve real-world problems, combining programming skills with research and creativity.

A good grasp of Python is required. You will need to be analytical and logical. Experience with Python data science packages is a plus (such as Pandas, PyTorch, and TensorFlow).
Creative Engineer
As a Creative Engineer, your task is to explain AI to the outside world using creative software. For this, you can use any medium you like, as long as it is understandable and fits the style of Epoch. Your visuals will make sure that anyone will understand what we do.

You will need to have a great understanding of how Epoch’s AI models work and translate them into easy-to-understand visuals.
OPERATIONS
Partnerships Coordinator
As a Partnerships Coordinator, your key focus will be on acquiring resources for the team. Your core responsibility will be seeking out and cultivating partners. During the day, you will meet and negotiate with different companies. You will need to stay organised and professional with all the different contacts and events. Effectively telling Epoch’s story and spreading its message is essential. Together with the Event Coordinator, you will attend relevant expositions and fairs.

You will need excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English. Also, you will need to be flexible, convincing, and organised.
Events Coordinator
As Event Coordinator, you will be in charge of organising astonishing events for Epoch. You will oversee who does what and get in contact with all external parties involved. During the events, you will translate Epoch’s story to the audience. You will be the main engine for Epoch’s events. Next to organising, you will attend external events to connect Epoch to the outside world.

You will need to be excellent at communicating in both English and Dutch, and you need to keep your cool under all circumstances. Experience with organising events is a plus.
Public Relations Coordinator
As a Public Relations Coordinator, you are the contact person for external (media) parties. You decide in which ways we want to present Epoch to the world around us. You will work closely together with the Visual Designer and the Content Writer to create a strong image for Epoch.

For this position, you need to have a feeling for branding and social media. You have to come up with creative ideas for creating exposure for Epoch. You also need excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Content Writer
As Content Writer, you will be the voice of Epoch. All published copies from Epoch will be your responsibility. With your text, you will engage and inspire people, by informing people about who we are and what we do. You will for example write about our projects, interview people and create content for our What’s New page.

For this position, you will need to have a great affinity with texts and be creative with language. It is a plus if you have experience in the field of journalism or other text-writing professions. Proficient English and Dutch are required both written and verbal.
Visual Designer
As a Visual Designer, you will be concerned with the visual branding of Epoch. Your goal is to think about who Epoch is and how we want the world to look at us. Your visuals will put Epoch in the mind of the people around us. At Epoch, you will inform and inspire people about AI. All from one visual identity. Created by you.

For this position you need to have an eye for design, you need to be a master in the tools you use (e.g. Creative Cloud) and you must have a good grasp of how to brand.
Social Media Coordinator
As the Social Media Coordinator your role is to oversee all the social media platforms Epoch owns. Also, you are the primary contact person for media inquiries directed to Epoch. You actively search for the maximum exposure Epoch can get. You write press releases and give interviews for radio, television, newspapers, and many more.

For this position, you will need to have a good feeling for social media. Proficient English and Dutch are required both written and verbal.
Video/Photographer
As Video/Photographer you will use your camera skills to capture every moment of Epoch. You will work closely with the PR department to build strong exposure. You will highlight events, capture the team, and create stories from our identity.

For this position, you need to have experience in video and photography. You will need to come up with creative concepts and you need to work well together in a team with other creatives.
AI Safety
AI safety is a topic we want to delve deeper into next year. With the rise of AI, the concerns around its safety grow bigger. Epoch IV's dream is to contribute to a positive development of AI. In our eyes, AI safety is a crucial part of that. We contribute to it by informing people about the development of AI and by inspiring them on how they can use it while making a positive impact.
