We compete against professional teams worldwide to become the sharpest AI engineers in Europe. Then we apply that to real problems — wildlife conservation, energy, health, society. Every year a new challenge. Every year the work gets better.
COMPETITIVE AI
We compete at the highest possible level
We compete at the highest level — on Kaggle, across Europe, against industry professionals. Not for the prize money, but because we believe this is how elite engineers are made.
Last year, we beat 100+ professional teams in an international malaria detection competition. Our model is now being used to improve early detection in malaria-endemic regions. Read more here.

AI CUP
We host the largest AI competition in the Netherlands
AI Cup is the largest AI competition in the Netherlands lasting 6 weeks across 3 physical events. This year we brought together 500+ participants from 7+ universities, competing on a real-world challenge provided by TNO.

INDUSTRY & PARTNERS
We work with
AI industry-leaders
We don’t just study AI. We build with the people shaping it. With a network of 400+ AI companies, we work on projects that push real boundaries.
Most recently, we delivered an agentic AI discussion simulator for the Dutch government (BZK & VRO) – a fully autonomous system that simulates policy discussions at scale. Read more here.
Next, we’re taking this work into the field: travelling to South Africa to develop computer vision systems for detecting poachers using drones, applying AI to help protect wildlife in conservation areas.
