Team Epoch is participating in the "Literacy Screening" competition, organized by Reach Every Reader, aiming to develop AI models that accurately scores audio clips from literacy screeners, helping educators provide effective early literacy intervention. Thus, teachers can spend less time on assessments and more time supporting their students.

Team Epoch participated in the "Malaria Detection" competition, organized by Lacuna Fund, aiming to develop AI models that accurately identify malaria parasites in blood slide images. This effort focuses on early-stage diagnosis, crucial for effective malaria treatment, particularly in high-risk regions like Uganda and Ghana. Using locally sourced datasets, the models are designed to minimize diagnostic biases and improve detection accuracy.

Students from the TU Delft Artificial Intelligence Dream Team Epoch achieve 1st place in an international AI competition with the goal of developing a model that assists researchers in monitoring kelp forests.
